The ScienceStart! curriculum can be used as an "off the shelf" resource for coherent and integrated instruction by an experienced teacher who is confident in his or her ability to teach science and is skilled in creating a language-rich classroom environment. For most teachers, professional development can maximize the curriculum's appropriate implementation.

Our staff members travel to sites that are implementing ScienceStart! to offer up to four full days of professional development, adjusted to local needs. In the future, we expect to implement a "train the trainer" model with an annual week-long workshop held in Rochester, New York.
